About

Another first for The Jam as we explore the world of jazz. Callum Au has written music for Quincy Jones, Jamie Cullum and Andrew Lloyd Weber, but surely a highlight of his illustrious career will be to join us in the garden with a bespoke jazz ensemble.

Featuring Ella Hohnen-Ford on vocals, Karen Street on accordion, Kourosh Kanani on guitar and Conor Chaplin on bass, we’re going to have some of the UK’s, nay the world’s finest jazzers right in amongst the caterpillar ravaged cabbages and gigantic sweetcorn!

We’ll be exploring acoustic jazz possibilities, from Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo to clarinet all-star Artie Shaw, shining a light on the cross-overs between classical chamber music and jazz. Of course, Callum will also be showing off his party trick of eating a (home grown) cucumber whole.

Callum Au is a British composer, arranger, orchestrator, and trombonist. He writes music across a wide range of genres, with a particular passion for big

band and large jazz ensemble music. He is highly regarded for his stylistic awareness and versatility, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists.
